Question for you?

My new mare was had her 17 day scan a week ago today. She was scanned in foal, just awaiting her heartbeat scan next week.

Yesterday whilst leading my gelding past the field shes in i noticed she was in season, pracing back and forth.

So what does this mean? That she has hasnt held?

About 10% of mares continue to cycle/show seasons whilst being pregnant. Alternatively, it may just be submissive behaviour, or it is possible that she could have lost the pregnancy - although it would be unlikely for her to return to season so quickly. No need to panic. Only way to tell will be to have her scanned.

This happend to one of our mares, after been covered she was cycling in and out of season. This was fine as she wasn't in the plan the breed from this year, however had her scanned the other week and found she was 4 months gone!
