Hi, I'm hoping one of you knowledgable people may be able to help me :)

We recently got a young dog from a rescue organisation.

According to his paperwork:
He was born on 07/12/09
1st jab was on 16/03/10
2nd jab was on 30/03/10

I know he needs a booster around now, but do I need to do it before the 16th or the 30th of this month? I can't find any info on the net, it just seems to say every 12 months.

Many thanks :)

They aren't so strict on doggy jabs as they are with the horses, i had my dog done in Feb three days after the year point and that was fine. Didn't have to start again or anything, jabs last longer than a year, in both horses and dogs but they say every year to cover them.
In horses as generally they move around and compete, it'a important to have them done on time. As for you dog anytime before the 30th and you'll be fine, the year started on the date of the 2nd jab.

As said, anytime before the 2nd date.

Then check with your vet as the new information coming out says that the yr booster now lasts for life and there is no need to inject every year. Some vets are saying every 3 ys other vets are still insisting on yearly. You will still need Kennel Cough every six months.

Some vaccines last longer than three years but an annual L,Pi is a good idea.
Parvo is a fast evolving virus so whilst the immunity from a vaccination lasts for about three years the strains change.

The Intranasal KC vaccine is far from effective and most definitely not needed every 6 months. It includes parainfluenza of the same strain as the Pi jab.
I don't allow any animal that have been given it within the past month onto my premises.

The data sheet is worth reading.

for most dogs a puppy course followed by a full booster at 15 months and then alternate years of a full &then a half booster is fine & most kennels & vets will accept this.

Dogs and cats have much more leeway than horses. You usually have up to 2 months past the due date before you would have to consider restarting, so in answer to your question any time around or after the date of the 2nd jab.
