Hi
I have a friend on the yard who is being driven mad as his horse keeps getting rain rot /scald)
Vet gave some anti bacterial cream and shampoo. it went away for about a week but is back again and is spreading. It consists of small lumps which turn to scabs dotted about.
Horse lives out 24/7 and is not rugged (he is 11 and has been unrugged all his life)
What can his owner do to keep this at bay.....oh and he has thoroughly disinfected all brushes etc.
I told him to rug him up but he recons that as the horse now has a thick winter coat on him it will make him sweat under the rug and make it worse???
any ideas?
