The ariat bromont H2o comes in either insulated or non insulated. If I bought the insulated ones will these be too warm for summer use?

Would I be better buying non insulated and wearing thermal socks in winter?

Are they quite soft to break in around the ankle area? I have a broken ankle so I am looking for something that is supportive for my leg when I start riding again. Are they quite a sturdy sole for riding in or am I better looking at the mountain horse equivalent?

Lots of questions!! Thanks for getting this far! :D

I love my boots! I've got the insulated ones and used them through summer on the really hot days out jumping and didn't find them hot. My left ankle aches after riding for a long time but when I wear my ariat's they really support it.

I accidently bought them when I was meant to be buying some jodphur boots for my leather gaiters but I took my OH with me to the tack shop and once I tried them on and found how comfortable they were he persuaded me to get them...eek bit expensive but worth it! I tried the Mountain horse boots on first and thought they were nice but then they got me trying the ariats and it was a different story.

Hope this helps!:)

I've got both!!! The insulated ones are beautifully warm, you could get away with using them most of the year but they would be too hot for me in summer. They are both really soft and comfortable, no need to break in at all!! They do give support though. I would really suggest going to a shop and trying on both pairs as they come in 2 widths and are quite long. I have quite long legs but they might not fit everyone.

I really LOVE these boots and would buy again - the suede on inside calf gives lots of grip - which I need :p

I have the insulated ones which I use solely for events all year round. Never really had boiling feet, only a bit toasty on a really warm summers day but not nastily so. They make up for it in the winter! And love that they are waterproof, makes such a difference - they've never ever leaked yet. They are really nice and soft round the ankle and leg. Love mine and smarter than MH in my opinion.

Thank you all! It looks like the ariats are the done deal!! All reviews so far are good.

I will have to go to the shop to try them as my ankle really needs to be comfortable in the boot. I have a pair of mountain horse boots for competing in and these are stiff and uncomfortable to wear even before the accident! I like the lace in the ankle area too as it means I can adjust for the swollen ankle days!

Good stuff, i'd better get looking for best prices then! Any recommendations from where to buy from?
