This is one of those things that I've always "known" as a horse owner but questioned on a genetic basis.
One of our mare's is by Passing Sale - same as Mon Mome (how happy would we be for her to turn out like him
). We bought her as a four yo so haven't seen her dam, but watching the stallion in the French tb parade... she's very like him in how she moves, her build and how she deals with stress - first reaction is usually up rather than out
Also there's some vid on a trainers blog of another 4yo by Passing Sale - again appearance and movement wise very like Lol, they would recognisably be siblings if you stood them side-by-side. I haven't seen any true siblings (as in same mare) yet - I'll have to try and track some down I think.
We usually think temperment from the mare and (hopefully) performance from the Stallion, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't same as anything in life
