Is it still accepted to put a ribbon in a stallions tail competing?

Sorry numpty question. [It will be his first show [dressage]...though tbf, I highly doubt anyone would actually realise he's a stllion as he is laid back. But just wondered whether it would be worth putting either a white ribbon in or just a green for novice?]

I would, you can't expect fellow competitors to act appropriatly around him if you haven't let them know he is a stallion. You don't want someone parking their mare straight infront of you!

Green for a youngster
Blue for a stallion
Red for a kicker

I would have Blue and Red as Red will keep people away from his rear and prevent any mares appearing right behind him :)

It's always a good idea to use stallion discs as well, on the bridle. BE sell them, they just help to warn other competitors

Brilliant thankyou. So even though he's not a kicker (hacks out with mares, other horses, in front/behind etc), a red one still in for just in case, correct? :)

Well even if his not a kicker its normally blue, red and white. I always do that then ppl know, My boy goes out with mares etc but some ppl on a show ground have no consideration for other's specially when kids are left to run there ponies up and down, drives me mad!!! x

Awesome. Thankyou! I shall go and get some today :) I'll come back with piccies of the Hairy cobs doing dressage for the first time!
