Question - what tool works best when poo picking a field?

I use two 10 litre buckets and rubber gloves! Not too heavy to carry and just walk a bit more!
Found my grass is mostly too long for a shavings fork and emptying the trug into my barrow killed my wrists and shoulders!
Plus cheap as chips to buy so not a worry if they get broken.
 
^^^ Jango, the fynalite rubber matting shavings fork is what I'm using now for poo picking, it's very good. I only started using it for poo picking recently after my faithful old regular fynalite fork died, and to my surprise it's even better than its predecessor.

I think it also makes a difference what the dung is like. I have a mini shetland so a shavings fork would be impossible. When I had a big horse (think elephant poo!) the short, flexible rakes would have been impossible. That’s when I came up with the idea of a normal rake with the handle cut down to size.

I use old feed buckets, the wide shallow ones
That shape seems easier than a conventional bucket both for putting the droppings in and tipping them out
 
WE have a supply of mini (child's) garden rakes bought from Aldi - available in the summer. Cheap and cheerful, they're made of good quality metal with a stout wooden handle and do a much better job than the standard rakes which come with your poop scoop.
 
I poo pick daily using a 'Wold Garten' mini rake with a handle & a skip. This makes poo picking in longer grass easier. Muck forks etc tangle in the grass and they snag the grass.

But what do you do with the hoovered poo? I'd have to run mine up my muck heap in a wheelbarrow anyway so it wouldn't be a time saver.

Gloves + rubber skip then into wheelbarrow for stable. Finish off by forking through with shavings fork to turn the bed over.

We have a large garden it goes on the compost heap and gets spread on the borders
 
We use the muck scoop and rake (tipped into wheelbarrow), for 9 ponies’ worth of muck. My friend with bigger horses uses her shavings fork and wheelbarrow.
 
i have a new toy for poo picking, and other yard related tasks. It is surprisingly speedy for its diminutive size, and happily towed caravans round the yard at it's previous home, so I am very much looking forward to playing with it when the fields are dry enough to get out there. It has a trailer, just visible top right, next to the wheelbarrow.
I haven't exactly worked out the logistics of poo picking with a teeny tractor and trailer - but I have bought it Ferrari badges...

with our hoovered poo we undo the back doors, raise the hydraulics and it tips out downhill onto the muck heap.
Muck heaps are far easier if you can site them so you tip a wheelbarrow (or anything else) downhill.

This was my setup of choice on my mostly flat track! Made poo picking a breeze!
If you can find some for a decent price, look at getting tractor tread tyres on the back (this kind: https://www.worldofmowers.co.uk/tyr...res/120-90-8-42a4-4pr-kenda-k357-tl-no-129976), you'll find it copes so much better on slick/slippy/sloped ground and you won't get stuck as easily. Much better than the lawn tyres on it now, which are for minimizing damage to peoples lawns.

Another vote for this one! I can’t stand it when the shavings forks get stuck in the grass!
