Any specific places that's good for finding a broodmare?

It's not me, just a friend abroad [so must be calm to travel] who's looking and all I have generally are cobs so can't help her.

Anything 14-15hh, ideally registered native or part bred type, maiden or not, ideally looking for something older that's had a ridden career but now more suited for broodmare/companion/hacking. Oh, and Liver chesnut/Chestnut/or Chestnut and white. :)

Anyone on a shopping mission or know of one.... feel free! :)

I've been looking recently, all the usual places - Horsemart, Horsequest, look for stud reduction adverts etc. What sort of budget you have in mind? I saw a niceish TB in foal to a Connemara stallion for £2.5K.

I haven't found anything yet, but I reckon closer to Christmas, when the lovely weather is gone and it actually costs money to keep a horse, there will be plenty of bargains to be had. So I am sitting on my hands :)

That's very true! Though I'm hoping to find her one earlier than winter as it's a fairly long journey to travel them over in...Possibly me being soft!

Well if anybody wants to loan an awesome WB to breed from they can certainly get in touch with me. I'm taking a break from breeding for a couple of years and could well do with said horse off the payroll!
