Just things I've always wondered and wasn't really sure who to ask!
Do V-shaped browbands have a purpose, are they for a certain type of horse or discipline?
And fleeced lined girths, are they for anything in particular, other than comfort?
There's probably loads more, but those two have been bugging me all day!?
Sorry if I sound completely stupid! I just haven't really come across these things before:)

I dont know about the browbands and not this is bugging me too lol.

I assume the girths is purely for comfort and for girthy types who dont like the girth etc.

I think the browbands just look snazzy :D
And I'm pretty sure the firths are just for comfort although I don't have one myself x

I am so glad you've asked this! I've had horses and been riding years but I don't know about anyone else but I go so long without daring ask questions like these that I feel as though if I ask them now people would laugh :o

I think sheepskin girth is for comfort and maybe a little for looks (I know a few OTT sheepskin lovers) brow bands - well who knows, they have all these weird and wonderful shapes and colours now I get blinded in the tack shop!!

The V shape or wavy browband can give more space for larger fleshy Native type ears. But they are mainly for fashion as you can get a shaped headpiece if you just need more room. The fleece girth cover though - as long as it is fleece and not a cheaper fake alternative - is invaluable if you have a sensitive horse. We've never had girth galls but the thin skinned Appie is massively more comfortable - and more willing to be girthed wearing his. Of course in this weather it means we need at least 3 - one on, one off and one definitely in the wash!
