Hi, Hoping to get out and look at some 3.5T wagons. I will be taking a mechanic with me (although not horsey at all).

What key things do I need to be looking at and what key questins do I need to be asking?

Thanks

See the last MOTs - as many as possible, and the Advisory Sheets! (spot the person who didn't ).

If there are mats, take them up. Poke the floor. Don't take anyone's word for what's down there.

If it's an older one, you need to check out the availability of spares (and the cost!).

Payload!

Brain is addled, but no doubt someone else will come along and add to the list :D

As above.

Mechanic should check chassis, brake lines and other corrosion soft spots.

Get him/her to take a screwdriver or small hammer under to check.chassis and floor. Again, they probs will but.maybe not the floor.

Have a check if any service history too....

Can you tell I'm scouring the internet for one with these problems on the cheap to do the work on?
