Just got off the phone from the RVC. As I said previously the Gamma scintigraphy showed nothing of note apart from very small changes just below the level of her hock. My vet and the vet at the RVC decided to continue with the lamness work up today as my vet felt that a 2nd opinion was in order.
So today they have xrayed both hocks and just below this level both of which came back with nothing.
They then went on to scan just below the point of hock on her left hind which showed a slight roughening of the bone just below the hock at the point which the suspensory ligament is.
So tomorrow she will have nerve blocks in this area to see if she comes sound. My vet nerve blocked her feet and she came sound but it is possible to get some of the anaesthitic used in the area of the suspensory ligament in which case nerve blcok of the feet was a red herring!!!!
Now I know many people on here have had experience with PSD but any thoughts advice etc would be much appreciated. In a way I do hope they find it is this as if not we are putting it down to a mechanical unsoundness with a pretty bad prognosis for returning to the work I want her to.

Sorry I don't have any experience with PSD, I just wanted to say that I really hope the vets can fix Alee for you and that she has an injury that will heal. Your story just sounds really unfair. Its bad enough when a teenage horse breaks down but for a nice four year old to possibly be finished before its even really started, it must be gutting for you.

Hi, my pony had a fasciotomy and neurectomy on his right hind last October. It wasn't diagnose until 5 months after the initial lameness. Hinds do not recover as well as fronts. The good news he is now back in full work, and is better than he ever was!! Good luck. I have been through the nerve blocks as well!
