Took Dexter to Norton Heath on yesterday for some BSJA, just entered th 90 and 1m class as he hasnt been out jumping since October!

But should have known better it being NH it was much more like a 1m class and a 1.05!

He was very good in the 90, just tapping the 2nd from last pole with his hind as he landed and turned to quickly, was annoyed about that but happy at the same time as it was the first time I was really nervous and stressed (I hate SJing!!) he ended up about 17th out of 60.
Onto the next class and he was again very good but quite strong and quick, I took a long stride at the 5th and he was off then! He snorted his nostrills and went!! I kept my cool and still sat up into the fences which I am desperately trying to do more and he just had 2 down in the jump off bit.

So was a very productive but long cold day! I did class 2 and got home at 3pm

Please do not comment on my lower leg I know its poop!! And am working so so hard to get the weight in my heels!

Great pics HJ - dexter looks fab! I desperately want to say put your stirrups up a hole or two to help with the lower leg but I look at the pics and wonder where your knee would go as you seem to have stupidly long legs!!

I agree up a hole would be nice, but then my knee would go over the saddle!

No he hasnt lost weight, he hasactually put a bit on a tons of muscle. Because of his TB shape though he needs a pad under the saddle which i forgot

Spider is doing really well, she is doing 20mins trot every day now and the vet is out Thursday, providing he gives the ok, we should be cantering by Friday and then hopefully after a week of cantering she can go out. Fingers crossed!

She is behaving impeccibly in her stable and has stopped all the spaks on the lunge now

Do remember 3 things before you jump your round & if you have concerns about the course:

1) You have judges at the show for a reason. They are officials, who, if who have reservations about the course, you should approach them, (they don't bite!) & request politely that a specific fence be measured.
2)Nobody is forcing you jump that actual course. If you don't want to do it - don't do it!
3) The course is the same for everyone!
Also, on your Pics, they ain't so bad. Just keep your weight through you legs. That will keep them still.

I do want to be there which is why I was there

I also think the height thing is a good thing for me as need to be jumping a bit bigger.

Thanks,am trying every day to get the weight down in my heels, just doesnt seem to come naturally to me!
