Quick dry leg wraps

Does anyone have these (PE/Horzehoods or bandage pads) and are they worth it? Considering getting some for the muddy grey monster.

I've had the PE ones but prefer the Thermatex ones, I think they dry quicker. I get the ones with corduroy outers as they last longer.

I could not justify the price of the thermatex or similar so I made leg wraps from double thickness old wool blanket which had been pre shrunk on a cool wash. I put on a cloth outer and touch and close fastenings. Until this year they have been in use for about 10 winters.

I have just commented on the prezzie thread about the leg wraps from PE. I think they are great value for money.

Sorry OP I couldn’t resist telling you this.

Thanks! If I was handy with a sewing machine I'd probably do similar. I'd love them, and reckon I'd get value for money out of the thermatex (grey who lives out year-round) but the initial investment is a bit 😲

I couldn't say exactly but had four horses, two wearing PE wraps and two wearing Thermatex, after a couple of hours wearing them, the legs with the Thermatex wraps would be dry and the one's with the PE wraps would still feel a bit damp - none of the horses had particularly hairy legs obviously those with feathers would take much longer to dry.

I also have the Thermatex and love them! Mine must be 11/12 years old now and they are still going strong! Definitely a worth while investment.

Thanks! Think I'm going to get some bandage pads to start with and save up for some Thermatex if we get out competing more regularly this year.

I always used Thermatex for my grey show cob but a tip: the Snuggy fleece travel boots/wraps (often in the Sale for about £15 for 4 ) do a cracking job plus they dry the knee and hock too.

the PE ones are good. a friend has the on her horse and they work well.
I have the quilted PE ones and they still do okay.
