Quick note to french members

Am sure you all know but thought would post anyway. Microchiping of all Horses is going to be a legal requirement as of the first of Jan. The fine is 450 for non compliance.

hmmmm interesting. I hope then they will force vets to check the chip then. When I take my dog to the vet they check his micochip each and everytime. My vet has never ever checked my horses I have to say. I know the vets very very well now but nevertheless they didn't know me from adam 5 years ago.

You're kidding?! Does anybody know when that law will apply to the UK? Think it's pretty crap for them to demand we fork out for passports and now microchipping as well...

Thank you for the reminder. Had mine done before leaving the UK as I thought the Export people may need them. Havent been micro checked here yet, but I did have the vax dates checked three times in one week during the summer!

both the ones at home are microchipped have to check the other one though, I'm pretty sure she is!!

All horses in Spain must be microchipped and have a codigo number which shows the stable /yard they are kept at . Large fines for not having the correct paperwork -all the vets are clued up on whats needed and the cost is reasonable .
