Hi
If you were considering hiring a small horsebox, which would you prefer
1) 3.5t - with weight capacity of 1t therefore only really able to carry one decent sized horse, but no need for additional licensing requirements or
2) 3.9t - with weight capacity of 1.4t, able to carry 2 horses but need to have passed additional test to drive anything above 3.5t
Many THanks

When I moved my horses livery yard a couple of weeks ago I hired a 3.5t box and took two horses in it. Carried all the equipment separately though to keep under the weight. Weight capacity of box was 1.2t, so just enough for two arabs and me!

I've got at 4.5t lorry, which is ideal as it's only marginally bigger than a 3.5t (hardly noticable) but you can easily fit 2 horses in it

Neither- for my two , and extra test, 5 tonne min for payload, or 7.5 with living, for hiring for a stayaway
1,8 tonnes payload for two.

For some hirers, a 3.5 for one horse or two ponies.
No point in having a 3.9 - needs the test ( or age! ) but not got the payload, bigger chassis or space.

Agree with the others-neither!

Vosa arrived at a show a couple of weeks ago-most of the 2 boxes there were emptied out!!!

Would not get a 2 box ever!
