just out of curiosity, how much did you pay for your dogs and what are they? I was really surprised at the cost of a Scottish terrier I enquired about earlier...£800!! I already have one and paid £200 for her, so wasn't expecting that much!

depends on the breed tho...

Norfolk terriers are really expensive becasue they are hard to breed from and have small litters..

Don't know about Scottish terriers tho!

But things like Dogue De Bordeaux are really expensive too..

My lab was £450 - which is about average for a pedigree lab...

I paid $1200 for my Boston Terrier, and I know that they run well upwards of 1000 pounds in England, being that breeders are scarce and litters generally small.

Ssshhhh we don't mention how much he cost!!

How can you put a price on this...

- 9 years on and we truly cannot put a value on her -

JRT's in H&H seem to be very highly priced

These cost about £190 each, which is rather steep considering they're both basically mongrels! Well, they Lhasa Apso's X Toy Poodles. Went to the breeder to get one for my nan and grandad, but ended up leaving with one for us too - she picked me, so i couldnt leave without her! She's priceless really!

Oh, and that's a bed in my N&G's house - they are NOT allowed upstairs in our house and they know it!!

Do you have any pics of him? Mine is the same breeding - we thought he was very unique!! But I would love to see another one!

Nothing

Both given to us by different people who got dogs as tiny little pups but once they got to about 7 months could no longer cope with their energy

1 Weimaraner
1 Collie X lab

Why dont people look into what the dog they are getting will need once its no longer a bundle of fluff.

My JR Millie cost £90 six years ago, Mouse and Jimmy were free because I bred them
grin.gif

I'm selling Mouse's pups for £250
Our first Hungarian Wirehaired Viz cost effectively £1000 because she was £500 and they wanted a puppy back from her before we could have her and the price of a pup at the time was £500. £700-900 is about the price of a HWV, mostly because they're still a rare breed - I think that's why any way.

Didn't know you had a GWP!! Just out of interest do you know the lines? I thought GWPs went for £600-£700, didn't realise they went as high as £800 and I've been around them all my life

Yep.......they prob got their eyes ripped out then

like I said not mine origionally.......hes a 12 month old rescue we have in...........he did have pedigree and price stated on it........to be honest we....chuck the pedigrees.....cos have no need for Them..........I think people give us them.....thinking we will breed/sell the dog on
crazy.gif

Hence we neuter the lot.........I can try and look into it for u.........I still see the girl who handed him to us from time to time..........she also bought a bitch(litter sister) to the dog I now have........but passed it on before getting rid of the. dog

The last pup I bought was Nova, Hungarian Vizsla, and I paid £250 for her. She had her fourteenth birthday last week, 13 April. How much is she worth now - priceless. There is no-one in this world that has enough money to buy one of my dogs! I recently took on a rescued Vizsla, she's priceless too. I have five dogs in total, 2 Viz, a Lab, a Dobe and a little crossbreed and theres not a price I could put on any of them. All but Nova are rescued. I'll never buy another puppy now, too old and not in the best of health, so middleaged/elderly rescue dogs for me now (should I ever get another dog).

THis little lady has cost me over £3,000 so far - bought in France for £ 700 - the rest are her Pet Passport fees/injections 'fostering costs while she waits out the 6 months before she can come in and the cost of her travel to the UK - but she's worth every penny

I usually sell my pups for around £800 - a pretty average price for well bred pedigree pup nowadays

Nothing, because I used to breed GSDs and just kept a pup. The last litter I bred was 6 years ago and charged £350 then. Nowadays prices for GSDs can be anything from £200 up to £800 for puppies. Have a dilemma now cos last girl I kept has a higher hip score than I would use for breeding so have reached the end of the line so to speak. Am now trying to find similar lines to have another pup in the next year or so.

£150, which I thought was fair as it covered the vet costs and feeding etc for the people whose bitch got unintentionally impregnated! I love Morgan, but would never pay megabucks for a dog. We originally wanted a Labradoodle, but the prices are ludicrous.
