I'm not affiliated but there is an intro show coming up at my local centre. Does this mean they waiver the day ticket fee? Need to get some more SJ practice in between my lessons but its sooooo expensive! Was going to go today and try a BN on a day ticket but it would be £14 class + £6 ticket + £2.00 medical + diesel - thats a lot just to jump one round!

I went yesterday to an intro show. Did the 80cm class £10 then British Novice, same price as you quoted.

We thought it was well worth paying for the standard of jumps and arena surface. Our horse went double clear then 1 down in BN. We came away very happy.

Am going again Bank Holiday.

No they don't waiver the tickets at Intro shows, also you would need to buy a ticket for each class. Try looking for some club shows, I think you can jump at those as a sort of try before you buy thing.

I did call the centre yesterday but they sounded quite offended and said that no, they didnt give away tickets. What is the difference with an intro show then, is it just that they start with an 80cm class then carry on as normal? - do agree, the courses are always set out well and obviously the prize money is more than unaff so would consider affiliating depending on the joining costs.....

I asked about free tickets and there aren't anywhere anymore.

From what I can make out yes, the intro shows have an unaffiliate 80cm to start (which you don't need a ticket) then go into BN, so you only have to buy one ticket to do 2 classes.

I'm out again BH Monday on a ticket, but will join on the 6 month membership after that. Look on the website for the offer.

I didn't want to join before I tried it out in case it wasn't for me, but I do love a challenge.

Not sure where any of you are based but at Pyecombe I do free tickets to all riders in all classes at any BS shows including Intro Shows. BS don't give away free tickets to show centres anymore but I don't charge for them.....works for me as I get more people coming to shows so worth forfeiting the ticket charge.

I also highly recommend Pyecombe, not only do they give out free tickets but they have a very decent course with interesting looking jumps. Worth the trip.

Thank you.
Had an intro/amateur day today, good turnout with over 100 horses. Still giving away free ticket to ride in all classes at all shows, junior and senior.
