Quick question about leahurst?

I was allowed to visit my horse when he stayed, he was there 2 weeks but there were visiting times. They did relax these slightly as I was working but I made sure I didnt overstay as they are very busy and didnt need me in the way

Thanks for that, I will ring them to confirm that its ok but just wanted to check,
Thanks horse is lame on two legs they have sorted one leg and having to do the other. Fingers crossed hes going to be ok but I want to go and see him to reassure myself and my friend. I know hes in best hands but still nice to see they are ok.

I know how you feel, I just had to see mine too. He had fractured his leg and I was heartbroken the first time I saw him cross tied to the door, he didnt eat for 3 days which made me feel even worse. Next time I went I got a whinney and he was much brighter and he was lucky to be in the main yard so plenty going on. Hes normally a right face puller and he was like butterwouldnt melt for the first week. The grooms didnt believe me at first when I said what he was like.
Good luck I hope it all goes well.

Yeah they do have visiting times and you will have to call first just to make sure no treatment is scheduled. But other than that they are usually happy for owners to go and see them as it cheers them up and helps with treatment

which I thought was a really nice thing for them to tell me when my pony was ill.

They do have visitng times could of looked for you today as well as was there having mares scanned we are only five min up road its great having suc a facility on your doorstep

My mare was there last Autumn for a couple of stays. I couldn't visit because it was too far away, but the Vet rang me everyday at Tea time to let me know how Star was progressing. They were brilliant.

I will suggest though, that you tell them about your horses character - Star is a coloured cob, but is also a stress head who loses weight very easily. I don't think they really looked at her and she came back considerably lighter. However, on her second stay for the surgery, she didn't lose half as much condition.
(She had chemotherapy, radiotherapy and then surgery for a Squamous cell carcinomA)

Thanks for this. I've just been told that my boy has got to go there for laser surgery on a sarcoid on his ear. I've been worried about just leaving him there n not being able to see him, even though I do live quite far away. Is it a nice place? Ayone else had any experience of laser surgery?
