Quick question about operations

If a horse isnt allowed food after a certain time due to having an op the next day, I assume that includes water?

Am I correct?

for cats and dogs take away water last thing before you go to bed and no food after 8pm.... not sure about horses though... sorry not much help.

Oh i know for rabbits they are alowed food and water before ops...

Sorry, should have said, its for Welly (one of the youngsters) he has to go for his gelding op tomorrow, as his testicle still hasnt dropped, so they are going to have to knock him out and open him up, just to give me something else to worry about!

J is the same, no better yet, he isnt really eating now though

Mine had op 10 weeks ago.I was surprised to learn that they can go 2 days without a feed that was really worrying me.He was allowed water until we transported him over then nothing at all until afternoon of the op.
Hope its nothing serious

Well mine had an emergancy op early evening and had had brekkie hay ect, I would imagine water would be ok ? The vet would of told you if not

True, just had a bit of a panic, and thought it would be like people, but vet didnt say anything about water, and didnt think at the time to ask
