I have 2 dogs of my own and look after my son's dog when he is at work. This dog is a 17 kg french bulldog, un neutered male 8 years old. All dogs are fed the same (different quantities) food ORIJEN adulte. Good shiny coats, no other problems.

My two are fine but my son's dog gets days here and there when he obviously has an upset stomach, does not want to eat any food but eats as much grass as possible. Could the Orijen be too rich??

He is actually the youngest of the 3 dogs but acts like the eldest a lot of the time! Any ideas or just wait it out.

I'm the worrying type of dog owner, so if it had been my dog, I would probably have started with taking him to the veterinarian for a basic checkup. If that was okay, I would probably test another food, to see if a food change made any difference.
However, since it is your son's dog, he also needs to agree with you about that there is a problem, and want to try to do something about it.

17 kg sounds on the big side? phaps he is just not hungry.
i have always gave my dogs a bit of everything mixed with their basic kibble and they are always `consistant`

Yes he does. Would do no harm to loose a little but always find it stressing when an animal (or child)'won't eat. Just wondeted if this high protein food that he gets is too high protein. Maybe if he was a little bit leaner he wouldn't have these episodes. Thanks to all for their replies.

He might just be bored of it. Have you tried soaking it in warm water to make it smell better? I like Orijen but at the end of the day, it's still dry food, possibly not too exciting? There's a lower fat version called Fit and Trim, I think he does need to lose a bit. Does get a lot of treats?

I'm afraid so, he gets treats when the others do. I will check out if I can order "fit and trim" here . Thanks for the suggestion

just by looking at the picture he does look a bit porky, yes i know the breed is stocky, but he looks to have extra fat around his neck as well as his body looking solid.
imo i would not change foods but measure out and feed less.
overweight is bad for joints.
