Looking at my mare the last couple of days, one teet is seems to have gone larger than the other. Is this something too worry about?
Think she might be abit tender, as isnt very happy when you touch them. She has started to bag up well, foal is due 3rd July.

Thank you.

my mares teets done this on the run up to foal. i am by no means an expert correct me if i am wrong but i would say it is normal and noothing to worry about. i would exsress her teets just to make sure it is not mastitis and check if they are warm etc. if in doubt get the vet to check her. hope alll is ok

Thank you for your reply. Sorry to sound dense, but how would i know if it was mastitis? They do feel warm.

Thanks

Very unlikey to be mastitis, just getting ready for foaling, her proper milk wont be in yet, just keep handling her teats and get her used to it.

Good tip i have found is when the milk is honey coloured/yellow foaling few days off, when it turns to white be on guard!

My girl has one significantly bigger than the other (351

) one side i would say is 1/4 full in the morning the other side half that, but after turnout both sides go down. The bigger side has had thin white fluid from day 310 the other side is still yellow. They are not hot or uncomfortable for me to touch, but going to run it all by my vet this week.

Right star was running white milk Friday and now just dripping here and there since... We have been late night checking etc but nothing!! Could they have white milk ages before foaling?
