Prob being thick but need to buy some new reins (yonks since i've bought any!) do they come in pony/cob/full or in inches? Also as far as grip do you reckon rubber are the best, plaited leather or continental? :)

It's yonks since i bought any too...but the last time i did im pretty sure it was pony/cob/full size .I love continental reins but that is totally down to individual preference.x

I ride horses that are cob size tack, but always prefer full reins, I like the extra length. My favourite reins are some english heritage reins that are actually covered in a soft leather, spongy feeling so easy to grip but don't hurt the hands if your horse is strong. I cant stand rubber as I find them too inflexible but as Flitz says, it really is all down to individual preference.

I have narrow reins that are leather with rubber on the inside face for the snaffle rein and thin leather for the curb rein. I have small hands (match my size four feet) and so need narrow reins, especially when using two pairs. I think the ones with the rubber are dressage reins.
