Bit of a quick catch up and sj report from saturday
Had a fantastic lesson on friday, we both felt it was the best he had gone on the flat and then we popped a few fences to prep for the show on saturday. Really need to focus on keeping a consistent rhythm and make sure i actually ride with a big enough canter esp when the fences get bigger. Finished over a fairly decent fence, which instructor told me was only 1.05, thinking nothing of it round we come in a fab canter/rhythm for me to discover 3 committed strides out it was actually closer to 1.15!!!! We did however make it although it took sometime for my heart rate to return to normal!
SJ on saturday and since we havent been sj for a while popped him in the 75 & 85. He was awesome in the first class, really in a super rhythm and taking me forwards. Had one unlucky pole in the jump off where i let him get long and flat to a vertical and let him dive at the top pole but managed a good couple of tight turns which is an achievement for Torin since hes about as long as he is tall, meaning we managed a 6th
Super boy again in the 85 but idiot rider couldnt see a stride for toffee in the first half of the course meaning sadly it wad 3 poles down and out of the placings. Really really pleased with his attitude and way of going, and definitely moving him up a height
Now for the exciting part......meet Tegan, the new girl on the scene! We have her on loan from a friend while she has a baby, she needs brought back into work after having a foal last year but hopefully she'll be out doing dressage at the end of the year and be out showing come the spring!
