You can do it on the phone even if its sorn
You need insurance on it and it will go to the old owner until dvla have you as the reg owner

I've been the registered owner for a while. The current problem is the mot cert hasn't arrived in the post more 2 days after it was sent with a first class stamp

If it arrives tomorrow I am going to chance my arm at the PO and see how I get on; but technically they shouldn't do it. BUt sounds like plenty do.

You dont need the plate. MOT, Insurance, V5 (or the lorry alternative if there is one). Same as a car - Oh - credit card

Strangely, the tax is about 1/3rd of my car, so the money is the least of my concerns! I might start commuting in the truck
