How much Valerian do you giev to calm a 15hh horse?

I've got the liquid it say 2 teaspoons in daily feed, so does that mean 2 teaspoons morning and night or just in one feed?

Sorry to be dense. Just want to make sure I'm not overdosing her. I take it you can overdose on Valerian?

I'm hoping this solves our walking in hand capers. ACP doesn't touch her. Carrots are helping, but am still waiting for the next bounce!

Thanks x x

I would assume that means two teaspoons per day. I used to have a 14.1hh pony and i think i gave him just a bit less than that.

I think it is hard to overdose on such things as valerian but i'm not to sure either, everything in moderation i think is ok, but best to follow the manufacturers instructions.

BTW, carrots make my mare quite excited, they have alot of natural sugar in them.

Good Luck xx

Can you not just ring the company that make it? is there a number on the bottle, most companys have a helpline.

Carrots are helping, usually carrots send horses the other way, like someone else said, lots of sugar, its like feeding penny sweets full of e numbers to an naughty hyperactive child!

oh right I see.

Like the thinking behind that whole distraction thing but I doubt it will really have the desired effect, having said that its no fun when a horse is constantly jumping on your toes when its spooking all the time so I do sympathise with you.

Normal dose 2 teaspoons (10ml in total) in with the horse's feed, so that means in total ...as in one feed only, they would state do not exceed if it was to cause any serious damage. I would stick to that dose for period of time and see if there is any change.

But if in doubt here is the details:- (take from website)

I'm hoping to god it does. ACP isn't touching her, and while I'm COPING it's no fun, and with at least 3 more months of this, with my heart in my mouth she'll do something daft and put herself back to square one, I just need something. A big bang on the head with a very large shovel???
