My horse recently starting quidding grass & hay, with an inflammed & bright red lower lip & swelling on the right side The vet came & looked firstly at his teeth, which he has said are fine, therefore - as my horses grazing is next to an orchard!!

he may of eaten an apple with a wasp in, being stung in his mouth!! ouch bless him, He has been in for 4 days with a daily dose of bute & lots of loving. Ive been giving him readigrass as he cant get hay or grass down, but he is able to have his hard feed??

Today he is still quidding, vet has now given me some anti-biotics & another 5 days bute & boxrest with one hour turnout, but to cut out the readi grass to encourage him to try and eat some hay,

So really what Id like to know if anyone else has had experience of any this?

Thanks

Ginga ate a bee. His head blew up, his mouth especially was huge. He looked really gross. He also had lumps all over him. Fortunately it went down within the day.

(((vibes))) for you horse getting better.

Sounds really nasty, poor horse, how much would that hurt!?

Welcome to the forum anyway, hope you have happier things to post about soon! Just wondering, do you have an Appaloosa? Sultana is a prefix (I think) for a particular line, which my mare goes back to. Just being nosey!
