I normally use tiny cheap dog clippers on the pony as she's very nervous and usually not in much work over winter so only really needs the sweaty bits taken off.

However, we're deep in the depths of a rehab plan which involves lots of trotting and I think she's going to get very sweaty as her winter coat comes in so I will be going a proper clip and need some bigger clippers!

She gets pretty fluffy but it is a very fine, silky coat. Feathers are reminiscent of Draco Malfoys rat tail hair cut so they shouldn't be a problem either. I have used a friends Liveryman Harmony clippers on her and she wasn't bothered so they're top of my list unless anyone has any other recommendations?

TIA!

Another vote for the Liveryman Harmony Plus clippers.

I've just done the trimming rounds of my 3 this morning, so that's 12 heels and 3 beards :). They perform faultlessly as ever.

For heels the standard narrow blade works better, whilst for a full clip and beards I'd recommend the wide blade. Wide blades only come in a 2.4mm (no 10) cut, though, which is equivalent to a medium blade in full size clippers.

I used narrow no 10s for heels today, but in winter I use the 5FC blade which leaves a 6.3 mm cut.

Another vote and get the wide blade. I was able to clip a full set of cob legs with it yesterday. I will still use my big clippers for body but the cordless harmony’s are going to be a life saver.
