Oh, I am so pleased for you and she isn’t even old.
The bitch I told you about that had her teeth done this week has always been with us and her teeth got amazingly suddenly bad. They look brilliant now, no extractions and she is eating well. Hope for the same for your girl.

She's been here a week now, and fully settled in. she's exactly the temperament, age and type I wanted so I feel like the lucky one,

Really good news.
I was not prepared for the wet cocker spaniel smell ! She has a distinctive pong anyway, but yuk, this morning its doubled in ponginess !

I got absolutely soaked this morning doing the pheasants, and now the back part of the house smells strongly of wet labrador and ancient Barbour drying by the Aga. Poor spanner is in the kennel.
Why is it that when you are doing the animals it is absolutely chucking it down with no end in sight and the minute you get home

You need a drying coat. The straps on mine were too short for the boys (bought when they weren’t quite grown) so I bought circingle style velcro straps, absolutely perfect! I left them drying when I went shopping, bone dry and non smelly when I got home.
