Anyone had any success with a Quitkick? My lad has starting kicking the door. A worry as he has sesamonditis in his fetlock. Best place to buy?? Ideally would like a secondhand one.

Yes 99.9% sucess even on my boy who i tried

2 slip rails (so he kicked between the rails)
3 slip rails (so he kicked the piller)
Electric fencing across his stable door (so he lifted legs up and trod downwards bringing it to the ground)
Hobbles over night for more than 2 years (which worked now no need)

I bought a quick kick for my new horse who was a bad door kicker and it reduced dramatically in a short time
I put my boy in her stable while I mucked out and he shot back so I bought one and bingo, though when his slip rails are across he still lifts his knee up and tries to knee jerk the rail off

Now I hardly turn them on as no need

Here are mine

Def recommend them doubt you buy 2nd hand sorry

Thanks for reply. I've tried loads of things and he always works his way around them or destroys them! Don't want anymore vets bill. Assume you buy direct?

I've got one, worked on mine and most others who needed it. There's two on the yard that kick more with it on, not sure if it's the water jet or the noise they like. I've considered selling but it's useful to have, I've only had to turn it on a couple of times after the first month as he's surrounded by door kickers so started up again. One horse broke his, he pushed the cap down so you can't refill the tank but it was probably fitted too high on the door. I'd have preferred to try it or buy secondhand but couldn't find anything and needed it pretty desperately so ordered it directly. I think it would be easy to sell on if it doesn't work or you no longer need it.

Oh, Look! Yet another thread started by a user with almost no posting history which draws attention to this particular product...

Anyone else smell an unpleasant little cheapskate marketing rat?

Shame I'm not a button pusher really...

People come to this forum to find information and get advice, so a post from someone with very few posts asking for information doesn't get my feathers ruffled.

Also - who cares?

Really!!! I joined the site because I needed advise. I've had 4k of vets bills on my horse due to bone resorption. I don't want any more injuries. But before I splash over £200 I want to know if they work. Surely that's OK???

There are getting too many keyboard warriors. So no this is not a marketing cheap skate rat, but someone who cares for their horse.

I assume from your response you have knowledge of the product and believe it to be no good??

Thank you. Yes I'm new to site but wanted some advise. The product is expensive, I don't have that kind of money to waste if it doesn't work with all my vets bills.

Don't think I will ask again!

I doubt it. All the first posts are different in structure, and unlikely to be written by the same person, two ask for secondhand.

They sometimes come up second hand on eBay.
You can make your own out of a vibration sensor, an arduino, and the windscreen washer setup out of a scrap car - costs about £50. OH did this for friends of ours who run a yard and it worked really well for a fraction of the cost.

Gosh what a great idea, but not sure I have the skills to do it. I will show to someone more able than me to see if they could do it for me, as that would be a massive saving. thank you
