Many thanks for all your kind words and support - they were all very much appreciated. We can't believe how quiet the yard has been all day - so used to hearing him calling out every time one of his wives or sons/daughters came in or out of their stables. I think his son (his first ever foal) who was stabled next to him must be wondering what's going on - he pulled me over to the stable door to see where his dad was. Once again, many thanks to you all.
