So my share horse of 4 years was PTS on saturday morning. :(

He had not been right for a while, no energy when ridden, accepting crap off the smaller ponies in the field, laying down more often, so we decided to give him a month off and see if this helped him- he was two weeks into that month.

Was found in the field on Saturday morning, running into things, and falling over, vet thought possible fit of some kind, and he was PTS there and then.

He had had a good/hard life, show jumping, hunting, and carting me around, and it was felt at 23 it was time to let him go with dignity, such a kind horse, with a cracking sense of humour, he'll be sorely missed.

So RIP Boris, go find Zak up there he'll be your buddy xxxxx

So sorry to hear of your loss.
We used to have 2 mares that we called The Pink Pair. The bay roan had a stroke aged 24 and died, after they'd been together 20 yrs, the Appaloosa was pts aged 32, 2 yrs later, when her arthritis got to be too much for her.
RIP Boris.
