I just wanted to say that, although this forum gets bad press sometimes, I cannot thank everyone enough for their advice and support. The people who have PMd have been lovely, so thank you....this forum always comes good when its needed.

There was no need to do any more, you have most probably prevented him from a life of mistreatment, pain and abuse! Better he gallops across the sky rather than be pasted from pillar to post ending up god knows where.
