Just seen on Racing Post that Fair Along has been put down due to colic

Fair Along was truly one of National Hunts stalwarts having been at the top of his game for many years. Though he never won a Grade 1 he was consitantly 2nd in them over various distances - hurdles, chases and on the flat.

I couldn't believe this when I saw it yesterday. If ever a horse deserved a long and relaxing retirement but it was not to be.

I was very sorry to read this, he seems to have been around for ages and always gave of his best, he was always one of my favourites and you overlooked him at your peril. R.I.P little Fair Along and condolences to his owner and stable staff.
