Keisha is gone, we had to make the decision yesterday evening for her to go to sleep. She had lost a huge amount of weight over the last couple of months, to the point we thought she surely couldn't stand up any longer but she kept going, in great form and still hopping in and out of the caravan. She wasn't eating the best, and was living on poached trout, one brand of dog food or sliced ham, as the notion took her.
But yesterday was different, she hadn't eaten well in a couple of days, was losing the ability to actually lap water and was weak. Her eyes were telling us, she was following us, standing next to us, looking up and her eyes were different, we just knew the time had come. It was horrible to have to take her but I certainly felt no guilt as she needed help, I am heartbroken but know it was for the best. We are all in a bad way, there is a gap that will never be filled.
It was 6 months ago that we thought we had lost her, she rallied round and gave us some more precious time together.
Some memories we have of Keisha..
Goodnight Keisha...
