Well we have had a new horse in the stable. A monster size of 17hh. I work at yard where we re-train, break in youngsters and sell horses. Our new guy is very rude and boisterous in the stable. Safe to say I am never feeding him again ;). He decided it would be fun to stamp his feet just as I put his feed bucket down. Fortunately I had steel capped boots on but it didn't half hurt. Luckily it isn't broken but it is severely bruised!

Ouch!

I was stood on by my friends 17hh Shire a little while ago, I thought they'd have to amputate my foot!

I've been on crutches for a month after my mare spooked whilst i was grooming her and she jumped on my foot so I know how you feel! It was a rather nice shade of purple for a while haha. I hope your foot heals quickly :)

Owwweee!!
My lady was splatting a fly the other day with her legs and when she slammed it back down my foot was underneath ,.. Painful !

I think I have lost the feeling in my toes, as when I get stood on, I can tell there is a weight on them, but it doesn't hurt...

Although I did have a hairline fracture in my foot last year when the horse jumped on it. Had just unloaded her off the lorry and tied her up, when she whipped round to watch the polo match and planted her hind foot on mine

My Big Toe sends condolences to your Big Toe...

I injured mine last year in May and after several infections it's finally feeling a bit better. We call mine "the zombie toe" as it looks dead ..ha ha:D

Hope your toe will soon feel better.

Ouch. once i worked where there was a huge 17hh hunter that loved nothing better than finding your toes standing on them and screwing his foot down. you could not move him and he stood there like butter wouldnt melt. Bloody finton was the blame for many sore toes lol :) but 34 years i still can see him and remeber his name lol :)

Haha I have had quite a few injuries myself with horses! I have cracked my rib before but to be honest my toe getting stood on really did hurt more! Haha you would have never have thought that!

Haha yep exactly the same, rib over toe any day!! A 17.1hh kindly walked over my toe back in November the pain was blooming awful, broken toe was about 4 times normal size and the toe nail is still vile! Healing toe vibes your way!!

When I was about 13 my horse stood on my toe and ground her foot into it (she was an evil cow). When I took my wellie off it was full of blood. I staggered blubbing to a neighouring house and they took me to the local cottage hospital where they removed my big toe nail as most of it was ground into my toe!!!. Had to hobble around for dayw with a huge bandage on it.
She was an evil mare, used to chase me with her mouth open and ears flat back showing the whites of her eyes and on the couple of occasions she got me she bit really hard an really meant it.
She got hit on the head by lightning when she was about 10.......karma I think!!!. (She was a flipping good hunter though)

Hungry, bet you're glad you had the steelies on, imagine without!

A tip however from biker who's had lots of steel toe capped boots. Check the steel plates inside haven't dropped, shifted or punched through. I knew someone who put them on once after having something dropped on toe and the steel plate managed to stab them and pretty much removed big toe nail and lots of skin (sorry!).

Expensive boots won't do this, but cheaper (internet!) Ones might!!!

Condolences on the big toe!!! Owchy!!! Xxx

Lazy 13.3hh cob stood on me and refused to get off.. At that point i also had a ligament and blood vessel healing after snapping completely it hurt.. Maybe why the bv & ligament took 3 1/2 years to heal not 2 as suggested... :D

Am I the only person that saw the title and thought 'my big toe' was a really odd name for a horse?!

I feel your pain... I was rugging up the demented welsh in trainers (yes, I know!) when my dad chucked my youngsters rug over the wall from the next stable... Welshie took the horrors and landed on me from a good two feet up! Black foot... Lesson learned!!

oh dear I remember a big ol horse standing on the side of my foot in freeeezing cold icy toe weather when I was about 11. Everafter my foot has a blanch on that side....but the ouch ouch pain....Ouch. Sod a shire.............double ouch. Big ol'plates of feet as you realise.
My cob use to gently put his foot to the side I am sure just to gently stand on the edge of my feet. Monkeys the lot of them.

Haha yep I was so happy to have steel toe boots. I have checked them and they are perfectly fine. They are good quality so I am happy :)

Lol I was wondering whether anyone would think it was a horse! :D

Ouch. Ouch ouch ouch.

A friend's cob stood on her foot and wouldn't get off! She was trying not to scream the place down and I was trying everything I could think of to shift him . I swear he moved every foot bar the offending one . We think he was getting his own back for us treating his mud fever :p:cool:
