Mum got a phone Call from YO this evening. She came from work and went straight to the farm. Apparently Tartan had dashed to his stable door and then collapsed. She called the vet out and her friend came to get me from school. I had no idea what was going on at this point, i though my mum or dad had been involved in an accident.
Then i got told Tartan was ill.
Got to farm and vet was already there. She checked his heart rate and it was 120. She said thats the highest she has ever had. Not even a galloping horses is that, and tartan was lying down.
There was only 1 thing to do. Put him to sleep. So vet got out the stuff, cut some of his fur off and injected him. We waited for a while. Nothing happend. She injected him a second time. Still nothing happened. It took another 2 injections for him to go. What a fighter.
This was about 3ish. Transporter was coming at 6.
Can't believe he's gone. We always said oooh this will be Tartans last year with us. But it never was because we have been saying that for the last 5 years!
I am so sad he's gone. But glad he is free from pain. Plus hes reunited in heaven with margo now.
Apparently it was liver failure. And its good timing. 2 days after Margo's 1st anniversary.
Thats 3 ponies gone in 1 year.
I'll always have the memories he gave me.
What a super pony. R.I.P He totally deserves it for all the things he's done in 40 years.

A nice site. I hope this is where he has gone

My mum (mandy4727) will probably fill you in with the rest

RIP Tartan
He's my favourite HHO Pony and looking at the photo's and your previous posts he looks like he has had the most fabulous and loving life.

I'm sorry to hear that. But he's free from pain. The rainbow bridge poem is lovely, but I can't read it because always makes me cry.

He looks like he had such a happy life with you and your family. Big hugs for you and your Mum.

Night night little man, god bless. RIP.
He certainly had a good long life, and you must cherish the memories you have of the time you spent together.
Hugs to you and your mum
