R2R affiliated show class

I'm taking my tb to three counties show and doing the r2r class but it's a long way to go to do one class. Can I do the novice and open class or just choose one? There are no restrictions on the novice class. It would be an ideal warm up and extra ring experience for him ready for search for a star. He's 14, so not a novice in age.

His age is not really relevant for the r2r classes as they are all supposed to be in their second career, unlike most show horses that often start life as show horses then go on to other things.
There is no reason not to do both, he may find two classes tiring or boring and not perform at his best second time in, you know him so if you think he will benefit enter both.

No reason not to do both. Have only ever done the open class as my horse experienced but usually a number do both.
