Brought the children to an open day for children at the racing academy and centre of Education today. After today, I wish I was a teenager again. I'd have kept the weight down and worked my ass off. They had such a good day. We were brought to Ireland's top trainer, Dermot Welds, yard, shown around and brought out onto the curragh racecourse to see 25 two yr olds on the gallops. Spoke to some of the best jockeys and retired jockeys, so as to explain what happens when you retire, as it is a short career. They all got to ride the simulator, and of course, my cocky 11 yr old was the only one to pass the simulator test. He now thinks he'll be a jockey...... We'll wait and see...
