Racesafe bps - childs/adults?

These are supposed to come up generous? I'm a size 8-10 (12yr olds have more bust than me) the only difference between the adults small sizes and the child's xl long is the chest measurement and forty quid or so!!! Anyone had one or known a child's xl long to fit??
 
With the new standards I have found they come up at strange sizes. The ones we use in the yard are the racing ones. My old one is a Standard Flat. When we got new regulations I got the same again except this time it was miniscule! It barely came halfway down my ribs. So I ordered the Flat Long and that is humungous! It sits well below my ribs and is far too big over the shoulder and across the back. It is just too big all round. I would defo's go and try some on!
 
I'm size 10-12 with a long back and my Racesafe is an Adult Extra Small (!!) in a "regular" back. So I don't know about a child's fit but yes I would say they come up generous.

The reason for being cheaper is there is no VAT on childrens sizes LOL
 
I have a child's XL but I got an extra row of squares put on the front so it covers my ribs. That added to the cost of course, but I have quite a short back so the adult sizes were too long, even in extra short. As somebody said above, I can't fit many layers underneath, it's fairly snug even with the laces let out (I'm a 10). One point to watch out for though is the armholes - they are smaller than on the adults' ones and Racesafe told me that a lot of adults find them too small. So I'd definitely recommend finding a child's one and trying it before you order.
 
They make them in Extra large long childs which has the same back length and over shoulder length as the Adults Ex Small - Medium , so would cover the same amount of body length wise, its just whether its too narrow!

Chest: 76-84
Over shoulder: 84-93
Back: 54

Adults XS -
Chest: 80-88
Over shoulder: 84-93
Back: 54

So heres hoping when I go to try they fit! I'd probably wear it under a jacket just over a polo/t-shirt also as I don't like getting too hot and like to be able to take a jacket off
