Racesafe Motion v Provent

I need a new body protector, partly because of the new standard requirement and partly because it’s about 20 years old and seems to have shrunk in the wardrobe.

I’ve heard very good things about Racesafe so have decided to try that first. I’m seeing both the ProVent and the Motion 3 online (nowhere near me stocks them for me to try). I much prefer the navy the Motion comes in but at £50 more expensive, I need it to have other benefits too. If there’s no difference, black is just fine for the sake of saving £50! Is the Motion is a worth the extra money?

Yes. I happily wore the Provent for years (hacking, jumping, local RC level) but had to get a new BP this year due to the regs change. I was all set to buy the same again but tried the Motion whilst at the shop and found it noticeably more comfortable. It has a larger number of smaller sections on the back and I find it moulds to me much better. I really didn't want navy as I'm a everything-is-basic-black person but the comfort convinced me to spend the extra and live with the navy. 3 months later with wearing it at least weekly and it was the right decision.
