Want to answer a couple more questions if you're excited about them?
See beside the horses name? What does the number followed by an f mean?
Like Rock of Gibraltar (8.8f)
And what do Best TS, best RPR, and OR stand for?
I'm new to this
Also, you probably won't know unless you know the horse i'm looking at Flame of Gibraltar, but do you know any others sired by Rock of Gibraltar that are doing well?
I was born in Gibraltar so i'm placing my faith in the name

Its called the SI. Its the average distance the horse's progeny win at. Racehorses often take after their bloodlines. So breed a horse that raced at 5f with another that likes 5f and get a foal that would be expected to make a short sprinter! A furlong (f) is an eighth of a mile. Rock Of Gibralter was a miler (performed best over a mile distance), which has obviously rubbed off on his children.
And what do Best TS,
TS stands for 'top speed' and is basically a rating about the times the horse has achieved
best RPR
The RPR is 'racing post rating'. Its very well respected and is used by most betting websites, and is calcuated using many factors like the horses previous form, weight its carrying, the horse's TS. The higher the number, the better the horse!
OR
OR stands for Official Rating. It's calculated by the British Horseracing Board and is used to determine what weight a horse will carry in a handicap race. A horse is given one once its either won a race or raced in 3 races and finished in the top 6. When its got an OR it can run in a Handicap race. They weigh down the better horses - the aim is to get a tight race with all the horses crossing the line at the same time
BF means she was the favourite in her last race, but was beaten
Her last race was on good ground, where as the previous ones were all good to firm.. so perhaps she isnt suited to softer ground? Something to think about if you're wanting to bet! Especially with the rain we've been having. She's a lovely filly though, and is held in high regard after her first 3 races.
C means the horse has previously won at this course, and D means its previously won at this distance
If you register with the site gg.com (it's free), you can set it so that you get an email when a horse, trainer etc. is declared/has runners. It's usually sent just after 5pm on the day before racing so you shouldn't miss it.
