Racing mare help!

My friend has a filly who had won every race she's been entered in so far!
She's 3 and a half now, and has recently become very temperamental.
Now, weird thing is, he's found that when he races her in the evening, she wins no problem, but when she races during the day she does badly, and last race she was last.
He's had a vet out and no problems.
Do you think he should just give up because she's just become a real night mare!

Something to do with the heat? Hormone related?
Depends on how good she is, whether they carry on or not. I would advise to persevere as worth nothing for anything else at present.
Plenty of options over the winter if she handles the AW.
