Racing peeps- what do you make of this?

I knew what the horse was called. Had been googling like mad for ten mins before I posted on here. :)

That's what I figured. I'd love to see all of the pictures he took.

IMO the horse was full of adrenalin, felt little pain and would not stand still long enough for the vet to shoot him. They finally resorted to lethal injection. If a horse had been shot even once the force of the bullet would have put him on the floor, never mind 3 times.

I don't think they ever fired a gun once, let alone 3 times. What they were doing was waiting for him to keep still - which he didn't, so they tried to restrain him, which didn't work. What they should have done is sedate him first, but maybe because of his adrenelin they opted not to, or they maybe thought he would be quiet.
Not every time will things go smoothly, and looking at the pictures it was obviously distressing, but I honestly believe the pictures are misleading.

Well said.

What shocks me more is one of the recommended videos on that youtube page about a horse split into peices ... although not real its clearly ???? (I can't think of any words to fill in)

the pictures just don't add up, his lass is looking calm and doesn't move position if the vet took three shots I am sure she would be very distressed and would intervein. I have had to hold horses on the track and would be the first to report to the trainer if anything like that had happened.

Its a captive bolt gun they tried to use, not a free bullet. You have to hold it against the horses head for for the bolt to penetrate its skull and enter the brain. The horse wouldn't stand still, so no shots were fired. The horse was HD'd by lethal injection :(

I don't think it's animal aid, but someone else.

I've just been reading some of the comments on youtube, and most of them are really bad. Ick.
