So - Royal Ascot is going ahead with no spectators. OK I understand that. But why isnt it on terrestrial TV? Why no Ch 4 racing?
I would have thought with spectators not allowed it would be more important than ever to show it on TV - the big meetings have always been on one of the main channels.
I dont understand this at all.

Channel 4 stopped showing racing a few years ago .....they thought Formula 1 was more important/had a bigger audience

I’m watching today’s racing from Newcastle and France .....we need to get some of the big burly blokes like they have in France to shove the horses in ...now that they are restricted to two men per horse ours just aren’t strong enough !

I've been watching too - I feel sorry for the stalls handlers! It's been so lovely to see racing resume, even though we can't be there in person.

We have been given very strict guidelines to follow for racing.

Us stable staff have to complete and pass a Covid 19 course before we go, fill in a health declaration form that is valid for 7 days so will need done weekly, we have to get our temperature checked before we are allowed to step out of the horse box. We are to wear masks pretty much all of the time - including in the horse box if you are travelling with someone you don't live with. The canteen and staff accomodation aren't open so no over night travelling is allowed.

It was a nice touch from Arena Racing today to provide all stable staff with a lunch bag - something that no doubt was appreciated by all and completely unexpected!
