Racing today

Over in Hong Kong, Ka Ying Rising (NZ) has now won in his 16th start in a row, taking the Hong Kong Sprint (G1).

In 19 races, he’s won them all except for two seconds. Although he races nearly always at Sha Tin, he did travel to Australia in October and won the Everest (G1). I would love to see him travel to Dubai or Royal Ascot.

Also I’m no Oisin Murphy fan but kudos to him for riding the whole race with no stirrups!!

Good racing again today. Was thinking earlier today that I am possibly slightly strange though perhaps not on this forum in that I was grinning like the Cheshire cat yesterday seeing all the amazing horses at Kempton and particularly the Irish ones who I hadn’t seen before. Was really excited at seeing Fact to File who is stunning. I wouldn’t travel that far to see any human celebrity that’s for sure.

I'm very lucky in that although I have obviously worked with some household name horses, I have got to see those from other yards in the flesh too in the racecourse stables. The Henderson horses - Shiskin, Constitution Hill, Altior, Sprinter Sacre etc are always stand outs, but I did love meeting Lady Buttons and Not So Sleepy. I gave a lad a hand to load Noble Yeats once too.
Many are either surprisingly bigger or smaller than I'd imagined.

Lovely to see them. I get to go to yards occasionally through work but don’t always see the horses. Sometimes do though 😁

Just watched the Savill Chase. What stunning horses. I Am Maximus ran a stormer.
Glad to see Noel Meade win (I support anyone who isn’t Gordon Eliot).

Interesting to see Harry Cobden go over for a couple of rides!

And great to see good old Bob Ollinger in good form!
Yes! I think Harry is a lovely rider (all those years of hunting!). Nice to see him wanted over there, an accolade to his skill. Hope he’s ok after the fall in the Saville, I thought the horse had broken down and was so pleased he ran on sound.

My phone takes rubbish photos
