Disappointed to hear them talking about him returning to hurdles. He doesn't know about his great lineage. He's already done great things. Let him excel in and enjoy a new career.

Wow, that gave me goose pimples. As one of the commentators said, great horses can handle anything. Oisin rode him beautifully. I think Nicky and Michael were blown away by the crowds reaction > I was heartened to hear Nicky say that the result had opened up a lot of doors for them. Oisin mentioned a black type race, perhaps they had already discussed that which would be great if they keep him in on the flat. I'd love to see him at Ascot too but as he's older maybe he needs softer ground.

I had goosebumps watching the closing stages of that race, what an amazing incredible class horse CH is, and what a ride Oisin gave him too. Pure perfection and brilliance.

Them saying how people love him is precisely the reason he should never run over hurdles again. Imagine if something happened to him when its come close a few times

If he were yours it would of course be entirely up to you but if he consequently died I hope ‘you’ would be banned for bringing racing into disrepute.

I have a nasty feeling they go for the CH then if he falls they will be able to say they can do a flat campaign as back up

The huge risk is he may not get up to be able to do anything

All eyes will be on day 1 at Cheltenham, as Clodagh said, you risk racing being bought into disrepute especially as he has so much media attention

I absolutely would not want the fall out if he were anything to do with me, nor would I want him to risk being killed

I dont really watch racing anymore, but I've always loved CH, my goodness he looked amazing again tonight! How wonderful if he could have a second career on the flat.

I hope he never goes hurdling again, but I'd love to see him on the flat again, hes so classy and effortless.

There might be some group races to be won, but group 1 with the likes of AOB etc is a whole different ball game

There are flat races like the Northumberland Plate and Ebor below group level but prestigious. Dual purpose horses have done well in them.

He’s a very good show jumper but would have some weight to make up.

The thing that annoyed me about the ITV coverage was that prior to the race they just had to show all 3 of his recent falls. WHY!

If they just wanted to give a reason for him running on the flat just show one of them - no need for all 3

I think we were lucky that itv filmed the entire meeting, they took a risk making it all about one horse who could have come 5th and made the producers look a bit foolish. As it was it was a triumph for itv and for racing in general but that’s only known in hindsight.
