Racing today

I'd like to think of CHill when he's finally retired being able to do things like hospital visits/charity visits. He's so laid back according to NH.

Isn't it a grey GNational winner that lately does the Alder Hey hospital visit at the GN meeting - Neptune Collonges I think (?) - those children are always so happy and excited to meet a real horse.

Horses are so able to calm and help humans in need and I think CH would excel at that rather than him just doing RoR.

Yes Neptune Collognes. Jo Foster the trainer had an ex racehorse she took to schools and care homes and was always lovely to see the photos.

He’s got quite a nice lifestyle for a racehorse. Go for a stroll and a bit of a gallop with your mates in the morning in the lovely Berkshire countryside then have a mooch round your paddock. As I’ve said before on this forum, I ask my horse if he preferred that lifestyle where he raced on average four times a year or being a competition horse where he competes more, asked to go in a certain way but in general gets more time out. He just says handover the food woman and stop talking rubbish.

Went on a yard visit to Andrew Baldings yard at Park House today. The horse Constitution Hill beat at Kempton is trained there so he was included in the tour. Anna Lisa Balding told us that Oisin Murphy was blown away by the number of gears CH has got she also told us that many flat trainers are intrigued as to where he goes next and what he achieves.

The racing in Dubai has finished without incident unless you count Forever Young being beaten ! It’s a strange place with far too much money.

I didn’t watch any of it livebut I would have loved Forever Young to have won.

Calandagan was an impressive winner of the Sheema Classic on his first race since taking the Japan Cup last year. I wonder whether they will be looking at something in France for him or maybe straight to Royal Ascot?

I was at Ascot today as an owner with OG although Innamorato ended up being withdrawn due to the ground as it wasn’t soft enough for him.

I left before the last race as I was starting to feel fatigued etc but just seen the very sad news about Brave Knight in the last. Condolences to anyone on here who had shares in him.

I did. He was such a very beautiful and game little horse. He’s the first I’ve been involved with that it has happened to. Poor little man.

I did laugh - but they have so much money they won't even notice the 30k per horse that is needed to supplement them back into the race.

I reckon that is 60k that racing could do with in its coffers.

OH and I have a 'guess the number of Aidan runners' joke when it comes to the classics. Similar to the 'guess how many Mullins/Elliot runners' there will be in the Grand National.....
