Oh it happens alright. The Brecon Beacons used to be a major dumping ground for the RSPCA and other places of course, don't know if they've mended their ways there yet.

Similar incident reported in Northern Ireland recently when farmed deer were seized by rge USPCA (ie Ulster branch of RSPCA) and then released into the wild!!!

It happens here too, poor things are mangy and have no hope of surviving in the wild, the ignorance of people is astounding and the cruelty--------

I'm sure it happens on a small scale - but suggestions of lorry loads of foxes being carted to the countryside for release are almost certainly BS! The LACS offered a substantial reward many years ago for 'proof' that it was happening! I did my utmost to track down the evidence - we were always being told it was happening - but evidence of ANY substance proved impossible to get!
