But who d'you think is responsible for keeping it under control at your yard??

Personally I don't mind Ragworting - its nasty stuff and not a pleasure to do admittedly but I think its just as much my job as anyone else's and in the best interest of my horse to keep his field clear.

Its just a note has gone up on the my yards 'dreaded whiteboard' to ask for help all week in clearing our fields as the ground is good for pulling but some liveries say that as they pay a livery they shouldn't have to do it and it should be done by YO and staff !!

Just wondered what the general opinion is out there??

Phone your local council - and as there are horses on the place DEFRA.

i tried reporting a field to defra and the guy on the phones actual words to me were well what do you want me to do about it?

In law it is the responsibility of the land owner, or in your case, the YO. So he is doing that by asking for help. It is the life of every horse there and I don't undertsand the selfish attitude of some

We don't have any ragwort, but I think the YO would probably get rid of it. But pretty much everything else we have to do ourselves though (fencing etc). I would be happy to pull it out of Chex field though, I see it as my field.
