Hi everyone

The fields on my current yard are ragwort contaminated. Most of the plants are in the rosette stage, but some of them are flowering. I used to remove the plants myself as soon as I saw them, but my horse was moved twice to a different field without my knowledge - both of them ragwort contaminated. I'd like to move to a ragwort free yard since my horse has elevated liver enzyme levels which doesn't have to, but could be related to poisonous plants. I was told that it will be difficult to find a livery yard around Cambridge where the plant doesn't grow on the fields. Is this true? Do you all have ragwort on the fields, and do you let your horses graze if the plant is in the rosette stage only?

Why on earth should it be difficult to find ragwort free livery? Any responsible livery owner will remove, or arrange to have removed, ragwort from grazing fields. So, yes, you should certainly be able to find ragwort-free livery in Cambridgeshire, I'm not aware that it's any more afflicted than any other county, gawd knows we have enough of the stuff here in Bedfordshire!
